Cleaning Up the Blue Fescue

I have this cute little scree garden next to my deck. In my scree garden I have clump of the blue fescue 'Elijah Blue'. In the spring, fescue can be particularly ratty looking. I believe the common knowledge out there says not to clip it, just rake it out. I have been generally eschewing that advice. I gently tug out the dead growth from last year from around the base. I take the remainder, twist it, and then snip!
